SAN DIEGO, June 2024 -- Hydrostasis is proud to announce a new partnership with the Delaware Health Equity Coalition Inc., a leading organization committed to eliminating health and social disparities in underserved and vulnerable communities across Delaware.
This collaboration represents a shared vision to advance health equity in wearable technology, an area long overdue for inclusive innovation. Current biometric wearables often fail to serve everyone equally, particularly individuals with darker skin tones, higher body mass index (BMI), women, and older adults, who have historically been underrepresented in the datasets and design standards shaping today’s wearable health tools.
Through this partnership, Hydrostasis will work alongside Dr. Cydney Teal, MD, MBA, CPE, FAAFP, FACP and her team to better understand and address these gaps. Dr. Teal’s leadership and the Coalition’s grassroots commitment to systemic change make this collaboration an exciting step forward for both organizations.
“We are honored to be part of the Delaware Health Equity Coalition’s important mission,” said Hydrostasis Founder and CEO Debbie Chen. “As we continue developing hydration monitoring technology, we remain committed to building solutions that are inclusive by design: reliable, effective, and equitable for all users.”
This initiative is a foundational move toward creating wearable devices that reflect the full diversity of the people who rely on them. Hydrostasis is humbled to contribute to the Coalition’s broader effort to create a more just and equitable healthcare system.
