Connecting LA <> SD Founders and Funders

Last week, we kicked off the morning with a room full of builders, backers, and big ideas at a breakfast bringing together LA and San Diego founders and funders.

Huge thank you to Halogen Ventures and DLA Piper for hosting such a thoughtful and energizing gathering, and for the opportunity to share the forward momentum happening at Hydrostasis. It’s always meaningful to reflect on how far we’ve come, especially in a room filled with people shaping what’s next.

There’s something powerful about reconnecting with familiar faces while meeting new ones who are just as driven. The startup journey can feel isolating at times, but mornings like this are a reminder that we’re building within a community.

Special thanks to Jesse Draper, Ashley Balla, Julia Richter, Richard Bull, and Josie Kamrath for bringing the room together.

It was also great to reconnect with friends and supporters including Eric Otterson, Samantha Pantazopoulos, Fred Grier, Lolita Taub, Delilah Panio, and Maria Gonzalez-Blanch.

And we left inspired by incredible founders doing bold work:

  • Melanie Wolff (HelloBrella)
  • Gia Wiggins, PhD, SPHR (Auditocity)
  • Jane Lim
  • Caitlin Malone

The energy across Southern California’s startup ecosystem is real. Collaboration between LA and San Diego continues to grow (and that’s good for everyone building here).

Looking forward to the next one.
