How Gecaᵀᴹ works

There are two parts to our solution: The Gecaᵀᴹ watch that you wear that uses light to detect hydration inside your skin and a mobile App connected to Gecaᵀᴹ watch that tells you how much water to drink and allows you to track how much you actually drink.

How it Works

Once GECAᵀᴹ is calibrated to your body, you can start using it.

  • The blue light means that you’re optimally hydrated
  • The yellow light means that it’s time to drink! Check your app for how much and make sure you record the amount
  • The red light means that you need to drink fast! Your body is dehydrated.

The first step is to wear GECAᵀᴹ watch so that it can become personalized to you. You’ll start by downloading the GECAᵀᴹ app and answer some simple questions.

The Gecaᵀᴹ watch connects to the App on your mobile device via Bluetooth®. Our App is available on both GooglePlay and Apple Stores.

You’ll then start wearing your GECAᵀᴹ and walk through our simple setup. Using your profile, we’ll figure out your body type and make sure that our sensors work effectively.

What is GecaTM?

GecaTM is a consumer wearable watch that monitors your hydration status, similar to a fitness tracker that you wear on your wrist. It is paired via Bluetooth to the GecaTM App on your mobile device.

GecaTM is not FDA approved and does not diagnose any medical condition. Please consult your medical provider if you have any health concerns.

How does the sensor tell you if you’re dehydrated?

GecaTM uses light sensors to detect hydration levels in your skin. If you are well hydrated, the indicator light will show blue. If you are slightly dehydrated, the indicator light will show yellow, and if you are severely dehydrated, it will show red.

We’ve designed the GecaTM to not have a display or vibrate because we want you to be present in your daily life and not be distracted by a device. If you are interested in more detailed insights and see how much fluid you should be drinking, you can view them in the mobile App.
